FOOD BANK FOR NEW YORK: CORPORATE ENGAGEMENT APP

Duration: 5 days

Hack-a-Thon Overview
In the wake of COVID-19, non-profit organizations found themselves in crisis: decreased donations, canceled in-person events, increased layoffs, and reduced or canceled programming–despite increased demand for services.

To help them navigate toward a new normal, our Deloitte Digital studios launched a week-long design sprint, part of a broader inaugural Social Innovation Month.

The event brought together cross-disciplinary creative, design and engineering teams across Deloitte Studios together to work directly with eleven NPOs across five locations to imagine new possibilities–virtual experiences, digital strategies, fundraising and programming concepts, marketing assets, and website enhancements.

Impact
After 4 days, a clear and tactical roadmap for the concept was delivered to the client (pro bono), which eventually converted into a (paid) RFP to build and develop the work. Pricing, negotiations, and proposal design were developed by me. Before the contract was signed, unfortunately, our key contact for Food Bank for New York had left the organization, and the proposed scope of work fell through. The relationships forged remained a positive outcome from the hack, and our client still has a tactical roadmap on hand should they decide to build the product in the future.
